Kenya Family Safari – Bush & Beach

Kenya – Bush & Beach
9 nights / 10 days
Starts Nairobi / ends Mombasa

The lodges used for this safari are not as small and intimate as the ones we use for our photographic safaris but they are very well suited to looking after families; even those with young children.
We’ve taken our own children on this trip – in fact we’ve had families with 3 generations travelling – and recommended it to many friends.

The two main features of this safari are 4 days in the Masai Mara and 4 days on the Indian Ocean Coast; but, instead of heading straight to Masai Mara we’ve opted to stay in Nairobi for a day to include a visit to the elephant orphanage at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

For our stay in Masai Mara we’ve chosen Mara Intrepids. Mara Intrepids enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Masai Mara ecosystem at the confluence of the Masai Mara’s four game-viewing areas.
Another key reason for choosing Mara Intrepids is their Adventurer’s Club which gives kids the chance to learn about the wild from Maasai naturalists who’ll show them plants, wildlife and survival skills.

The second half of the holiday is spent by the Indian Ocean at the Voyager Beach Resort. In addition to boasting 3 swimming pools – that’s right, 3 swimming pools – guests at Voyager can indulge in a variety of water sports and there is an Adventurer’s Club for the youngsters
