Congo’s rare mountain gorillas could become victims of oil exploration

WWF warns of environmental disaster and permanent conflict if British firm begins drilling for oil inside Virunga national park.

Once again fragile wildlife environments and endangered species find themselves under threat from big business and the eagerness of a government to cash in on it’s country’s natural resources.

This amazing park in Africa supports a wide variety of biodiversity, but its commercial exploitation could devastate its flora and fauna and plunge the region into a permanent crisis

It would be a disaster if these already rare gorillas lost one of their most important habitats.
